Wood grain and songs

Doing some wood graining this week:

Yep, that’s paint. These kind of gigs are great cause you get to use some cool stuff, like the wood graining tool. As most faux artists know, once you’ve got a decent handle on it, it really does most of the work. The creative part for us comes in with color matching the existing wood, picking a base coat that will look same as the real wood, after it’s been grained and stained down with glazes, and hand mixing the top coats to keep a uniform color.

Also this weekend, my group of musically-inclined confederates, Hang Dog Expression are going to try our hand at recording! For a few years now we’ve only had live recordings and poorly crafted demos, so it’ll be nice to have some actual products for all our work. Speaking of, here’s a new song we recorded in the backyard a few weeks ago:
