Years ago, we did an upstairs fantasy room for 2 siblings, it was an elaborate and beautiful thing including a secret stairwell leading to the room and a wrap-around mural and hand painted furniture to match each portion fo the room.
But alas, the kids keep growing up and out grew the original uses, so their parents separated the space with a new wall and we were tasked with updating the rooms:
The girl’s side includes fur-lined walls, glitter walls and trim, ceiling rings and a purple glitter rock-star shilouette. It also boasts a handpainted and jeweled mirror, a disco ball, dance lighting, and a touch sensitive light-up dance floor!
Go through that door in the back and you find yourself in the boy’s room:
The boys side was made into a car-themed game room, with metallic silver walls and ceiling, a bronze racing stripe, and hand-painted faux diamond stitched upholstery! It also boasts dual exhaust pipes in the ceiling with inset lights!

We recently completed this boy’s room in Palos Verdes, Ca. It includes historic plane murals, Star Wars images, faux wood beams and doors, and a vintage map!
Each of these closet doors are fauxed to match the existing woods, in order to tie the room together.
This map is based on a vintage design and is complete with aged details and country names!
And here’s a video of our process with this room, we hope you enjoy it!

Here’s a look at a recent job we did, a wood grained fireplace mantle.
We began by prepping and priming the mantle, which had been newly constructed out of pine.
Then, after a base coat and 4 layers of glaze we’ve got a wood mantle!
You can see more samples of wood grains and other finishes in our Faux Finish portfolio.

We recently went back to a long-time client’s house to do some work, which was great because we never got decent pictures of the work we had done previously!
We designed and painted their downstairs/wine cellar area, using different techniques to accomplish a wide range of looks. And the picture below shows three of them!
You can see the faux diamonds we did in the wine room, the door jam and floor molding which we painted with a faux wood grain, and a wine country mural we painted along the hallway.
Here’s a better look at the diamonds in the wine room:

Also in the hallway are a set of doors which we painted to look like wood:

It’s worth noting that these finishes and murals are almost 5 years old! They’ve held up wonderfully and will continue to shine with minimal care and upkeep.
Oh! and here’s the job that we went back to do:
