Definition of terms

fear of engraving: one of many common fears among corporate controlled societies where an individuals basic desire to proclaim and display their individuality becomes rare and unpopular. The art of Engraving once a common well established trade and form of free expression, still remains a symbol of a free society. Use it or lose it!
original marking restoration: to mark or remark an object (usually originally steel stamped) by use of Universal Engravers.
machine engraving: to mark an object by use of a rotating cutter that is part of a machine controlled manually or by computer.
diamond scratching: to mark an object by use of a non-rotating diamond cutter that is part of a machine controlled manually or by computer.
hand engraving: to mark an object by use of a hand held cutter controlled manually.
chemical and photo engraving or etching: to mark an object by use of a chemical acid controlled by a coating of resist or exposure to light.
laser engraving: to mark an object by use of a laser beam controlled by computer.
metal or steel stamping: to mark an object by use of a raised three-dimensional reverse engraved hardened steel stamp controlled by hand or machine.
